Grifols Egypt participated on 25th July, 2023 in an awareness seminar dedicated to promoting Egypt's "National Project for Plasma-derived Medicines" and highlighted its significance in enhancing Egypt's healthcare system.

The symposium was held under the distinguished patronage of Professor Doctor Mahmoud ElMetainy, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Awad Tageldin, Advisor to the President of Egypt for health and prevention affairs, and also brought together various esteemed professors and public figures from different fields.

During the event, Dr. Magdy Amin, the CEO of Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives (GEPD), delivered a presentation underscoring the project's goals and importance, while noting it continues to advance steadily. Recent progress includes the arrival of the first plasma-derived medicines made from the plasma of Egyptian donors, and the certification of the first Grifols Egypt donor centers by the International Quality Plasma Program, validating the high quality and safety standards.

Dr. Magdy emphasized the many benefits of plasma donation for both donors and patients, and explained the process of plasmapheresis, the safe process through which donations are made. Additionally, he clarified the distinction between blood and plasma donation, ensuring that attendees had a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
